About the role:

As a Customer Insights Analyst, you'll be at the centre of some of our most important trading decisions. By identifying trends and opportunities within complex data, you'll help shape strategies that deliver value for our stores and customers.

 

Reporting to the Senior Customer Insights Analyst, you’ll work closely with Category Managers and Buying Leads. You'll challenge assumptions and your analysis will shape and influence trading decisions enabling our Merchandise teams to make confident decisions with precision.  

 

From evaluating promotional performance to supporting category reviews and new product initiatives, your analysis will help drive better outcomes ensuring Merchandise teams have the insights needed to make confident decisions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver decision-ready insights and recommendations across price, promotions, range and customer.
  • Translate complex data into clear “so what/now what” actions that improve category and commercial performance.
  • Partner with Category Managers to shape decisions and challenge thinking with category reviews and day-to-day trading decisions.
  • Evaluate promotional and campaign activity, identifying what worked well and provide guidance for future campaign planning.
  • Own outputs end-to-end, from understanding the questions through to insight, recommendation and delivery

About you:

You’ll be a commercially minded analyst who enjoys uncovering insights and turning them into practical recommendations You enjoy working with data but are equally focused on how your insights impact real business decisions and outcomes. Ideally, you’ll also bring:

  • Experience in FMCG or retail environment, with a proven ability to turn insights into clear recommendations that influence decisions.
  • Strong ability to interpret data, connect it to business context and deliver clear, actionable recommendations supported by analytical tools.
  • The ability to interpret complex information and translate it into actionable recommendations.
  • Confidence to challenge thinking and recommend actions, not just present findings.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder skills, with the ability to influence conversations.
  • A high level of ownership, with a focus on quality, consistency and delivery
