Grocery Manager  – Four Square West Melton.

 

We are offering an opportunity to a retail professional with drive and enthusiasm to take on this key role within our busy supermarket operation.

 

This position is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, positive and self-starting team player who enjoys the challenges of supermarket retailing.  Reporting directly to the Owner Operator & Store Manager you will be responsible for the overall running of this department including meeting the financial KPI’s. You will need to maintain a high-level of presentation within the store and consistently maximise the fill of our products, as well as upholding a focus on sales and service to our customers.  You will supervise the team and also work alongside them to get the job done.

 

This is a full-time role (45 hours per week) based at our West Melton store, working Sunday to Thursday and responsible for opening and/or closing the store as per Duty Manager roster.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

  • Plan, lead and organise the day-to-day operation of the Retail floor and team
  • Ensuring standards of merchandising and presentation are achieved and maintained
  • Managing the product mix to ensure we have the best range for our customers
  • Implement a strong instore promotional programme that complements our group specials 
  • Responsible for the sale of liquor and tobacco
  • Maintaining our Health & Safety and Food Safety Standards
  • Be able to manage stock levels according to trade patterns
  • Duty management of overall store as per roster

 

The successful applicant will have:

 

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a senior/management role in a supermarket
  • A Liquor Licence (Managers Certificate) for the sale of liquor or the ability to get one. 
  • Strong customer service focus and experience
  • Well-developed time management skills
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Sound problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Proven high-level effective communication skills 
  • Solid SAP reporting experience 
  • Relevant store computer skills including operating a checkout and competency with spreadsheets
  • Ability to learn fast & a willingness to be trained in all departments.
  • Proven ability to be a team player who demonstrates a positive can-do attitude
  • A Forklift Licence or the ability to get one.
