Grocery Managers – New World Wanaka

New World Wanaka is looking for motivated and capable Grocery Managers to lead the day-to-day operations of our busy Grocery Department. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll help drive team performance, maintain high merchandising standards, and ensure our customers enjoy a top-quality shopping experience every time.

Key Responsibilities 

• Managing the daily operations of the Grocery Department
• Working closely alongside the team to ensure smooth and efficient workflows
• Help manage stock ordering, promotional planning, and inventory control
• Maintain high standards in merchandising, presentation, and product availability
• Assist with rostering and staff scheduling
• Build strong relationships with suppliers and team members
• Participate in stocktakes and reporting using in-store systems
• Provide excellent customer service and product knowledge

The successful applicant will have:

• A minimum of five years retail experience
• A minimum of five years customer service experience
• Tertiary education to bachelor or equivalent level
• Hands on experience with New Zealand Food safety and Health and Safety practices in a supermarket environment
• A good understanding of supermarket financial KPI’s
• Sound SAP and Excel capabilities
• Current forklift license or willing to obtain one

These are permanent full-time roles.  Remuneration will be between $28 - $32 per hour with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week.  You will need to be available in weekends.  Reporting to the Store Manager.  We are an Immigration Accredited employer.
