New World Waitaki Bakery prides itself on producing top quality products, amazing presentation and exceptional customer service.  We have a fantastic opportunity for a self-confident, motivated, team player who is passionate about baking.

 

This position will be a full-time position, including one day of the weekend, 5 days a week, with a minimum of 40 hours.  Hourly rate will commence at $30.70

 

The ideal candidate will be:

 

  • Experience in the operation of a Bakery with a proven background in food service
  • A Qualified Baker, or qualification equivalent to Level 4 Bakers, with a minimum of 2 years work experience.
  • Passionate about producing and baking products while delivering outstanding quality
  • Customer service focused
  • Innovative, with strong desire to stay ahead of the competition
  • Positive, show initiative and be self –motivated
  • An outstanding communicator with an incredible eye for detail
  • Analytical and measured in their approach to different scenarios

 

Your key tasks/responsibilities will include:

 

  • Assisting the manager to achieve sales targets and meet profitability budgets
  • Maintain high presentation standards and cleanliness
  • Assisting with leading and developing the Bakery team
  • Ordering and controlling Bakery stock levels
  • Providing outstanding customer service
  • Actively promoting food safety and health and safety initiatives within the department and throughout the supermarket
