Supermarket Assistant - New World Timaru
We are looking for a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team as a Supermarket Assistant. In this role, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service at the checkout while also assisting with various tasks in the checkout & grocery departments. You will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience for our customers. Your day-to-day duties:
- Greet customers warmly and provide friendly assistance throughout their shopping experience.
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using cash registers, scanners, and other point-of-sale systems.
- Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments securely and accurately, maintaining a balanced till.
- Bag items carefully and efficiently, ensuring the safety and convenience of customers.
- Stock shelves, rotate products, and ensure proper product placement in the grocery department.
- Help customers locate products and provide recommendations as needed.
- Assist with inventory management, including conducting stock checks and notifying supervisors of any shortages or discrepancies.
This is a full-time position working Tuesday – Saturday for the following shifts:
- Tuesday 9am – 6pm
- Wednesday 9am – 6pm
- Thursday 10am – 7pm
- Friday 7am – 4pm
- Saturday 11am – 8pm
