We are looking for a passionate and organised Customer Service Manager to oversee and lead our checkout, lotto & cafe team. Our ideal candidate will have previous supermarket management experience and a commitment to excellence.

 

New World Timaru is more than just a supermarket. As a locally owned, family-run business, we’re a hub for the community, with a strong focus on supporting both our team and customers. Working 40 hours a week, the exact days and hours are negotiable for the successful candidate, however, will include one weekend day and may include early mornings. You’ll have set days & hours to provide stability and reliability to your week.

 

We’ll provide training in the details but you must;

 

  • Have the ability to lead and inspire a team, ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
  • Drive a culture of excellent customer service that is fast, friendly, and efficient.
  • Be a problem-solver who can adapt quickly to changing situations and customer needs.
  • Have an understanding of food safety standards and the importance of following regulations.

 

Your day-to-day will involve the following;

 

  • Manage and oversee daily operations of the checkout team. ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate staff to provide excellent customer service.
  • Ensure compliance with our strict food control plan and health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise staff scheduling and managing wage budgets.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly and professionally.

 

Our ideal candidate may have these key skills & qualifications or the ability to obtain them;

 

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Valid Liquor Licence Controller Qualification, Manager’s Certificate and Lotto Operator Certificate.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills. · Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using a computer, tablet, handheld devices & SAP (full training provided)
