We have a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Deli Manager to join our team. 

 

This hands-on role, you'll be right in the mix, helping to run and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Deli. Your responsibilities will include planning, purchasing, organising, and leading our team to ensure everything runs smoothly. From managing staff and schedules to cooking, ordering, and presenting goods and maintaining our department's high standards.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Assist the Deli Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the deli, including stock management, ordering and food preparation.
  • Supervise and lead a team of deli assistants, ensuring excellent customer service and maintaining a high level of cleanliness, hygiene and food safety
  • Ensure products are displayed attractively and that stock levels are maintained
  • Assist with training and development of team members
  • Assist with staff rostering 

 

We don't mind showing people the ropes of how we do things, so to fit in and enjoy your time with us, you will ideally bring:

 

  • Previous experience in a deli, food service, or retail environment is advantageous
  • A passion for customer service 
  • Experience with stock merchandising in a retail environment would be beneficial
  • Good computer skills 
  • Experience in coaching and training staff
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Flexible and reliable with a strong work ethic

 

HOURS: 

 

  • This is a Fixed Term position for 9 months while covering parental leave.
  • The days of work are Sunday - Thursday (hours will be discussed at the interview stage)
