We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Dairy / Frozen / Liquor Assistant Manager to join our team at PAK’nSAVE Rolleston.
This is a hands-on leadership role supporting the day-to-day running of our Dairy, Frozen and Liquor areas. You’ll work alongside the Department Manager to lead the team, maintain high standards, and ensure our shelves are full, organised and ready for our customers.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys leading from the front, can keep a team focused in a busy supermarket environment, and takes pride in delivering great standards every day.
This is a full-time position and includes a weekend shift. Specific days and hours will be discussed with the successful applicant.
What the role involves:
- Supporting the Department Manager with the day-to-day running of Dairy, Frozen and Liquor
- Leading, supporting and motivating the team to achieve daily department targets
- Ensuring shelves are well stocked, faced up and presented to a high standard
- Monitoring stock levels and helping ensure products are available for our customers
- Ensuring correct stock rotation and maintaining high standards of product quality
- Planning and prioritising workloads to ensure tasks are completed efficiently
- Providing direction, coaching and support to team members
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food safety and health and safety
- Providing excellent customer service and responding to customer needs when required
- Stepping up and taking ownership of the department in the Department Manager’s absence
What we’re looking for:
- Previous supermarket experience is essential
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is essential
- Experience within Dairy, Frozen and/or Liquor would be an advantage
- Confidence leading and motivating a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively
- A strong focus on stock availability, presentation and maintaining department standards
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- A positive, proactive and hands-on approach
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow through on tasks
- Physically fit and comfortable with the physical demands of the role, including regular lifting
- Reliable and committed to delivering consistently high standards
