Store Manager - NEW WORLD Rangiora

 

Are you looking for a senior leadership role in a large New World that could provide you the opportunity to develop your career further as well as pathways to store ownership?  We are looking for a person who can lead the store and develop an extensive team via a positive customer / team centric style. This role reports to the Owner operator.

 

The key responsibilities are:

 

  • Leading, coaching and supporting the management team. You will be assisted in this by direct reports of Fresh Foods manager and Dry Goods manager.
  • Ensuring the store's financial and presentation expectations are being met.
  • Being involved in manager goal setting to ensure required objectives are being met.
  • Working with the department management team to achieve the companies KPIs
  • Ensuring the stores compliance work is being undertaken as required.
  • People management including wage and hours budgets, rostering, recruitment, training coordination, performance and disciplinary management.

 

The key qualifications and skills required are:

 

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a management role leading large teams in a supermarket or retail environment, preferably within the Foodstuffs Group
  • An eye for detail and ability to guide the presentation of the complete store
  • Supermarket compliance knowledge including food safety and health & safety in a retail environment
  • Exceptional training and communication skills and have the ability to lead from the front
  • High level of IT systems and computer skills

  • The ability to communicate successfully with a wide range of people including team members, Department Managers, Business Owners and external organisations
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Outstanding planning and organising skills
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills
  • Team Player – who will support and collaborate effectively
  • Excellent time management with the ability to multitask and prioritise is essential
