FRESH FOODS ASSISTANT - DELI

We are looking for people with a passion for food preparation to work in our Deli department. 

In the Deli our rosters are fixed, so you’ll know what days you’ll work each week and that you’ll be working 9 hours per day, 45 hours per week. The roster for this position is:

Saturdays to Wednesdays 5:00am to 2.30pm. 

The ideal candidate will be:

• Someone with previous food handling and preparation experience
• Physically fit and able to lift reasonably heavy items
• A team player with the ability to assist colleagues as well as work independently
• Attentive to detail and committed to providing an excellent shopping experience for our customers 
• Reliable
• Available to work weekends

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing food items such as salads, sandwiches, and other deli items and cooking and heating food
• Packing and presenting products ready for sale
• Providing a high level of customer service and assisting customers 
• Maintaining stock levels in cabinets and retail spaces and ensuring all products on display are excellent quality
• Cleaning trays, utensils and kitchen areas
• Compliance with our Health and Safety and Food Safety programme.

Applicants must be New Zealand Citizens, New Zealand Permanent Residents, or hold a valid New Zealand Work Visa.

It is a requirement that applicants have least two years working in a similar role, which includes food handling and preparation experience.
