FRESH FOODS ASSISTANT - BUTCHERY

We are looking for a fast and efficient person with a passion for food preparation to work in our Butchery department. 

In the Butchery our rosters are fixed, so you’ll know what days you’ll work each week and that you’ll be working 9 hours per day, 45 hours per week. 

The roster for this position is: Fridays to Tuesdays 5:00am to 2.30pm. 

The ideal candidate will be:

• Someone with previous food handling and preparation experience
• Physically fit and able to lift reasonably heavy items
• A team player with the ability to assist colleagues as well as work independently
• Attentive to detail and committed to providing an excellent shopping experience for our customers 
• Reliable and have good timekeeping
• Available to work weekends

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing and packing and presenting meat products ready for sale
• Maintaining stock levels in cabinets and retail spaces and ensuring all products on display are excellent quality
• Cleaning trays, utensils and preparation areas
• Compliance with our Health and Safety and Food Safety programme.
