Bakery Assistant Manager 

 

This full-time position is a great opportunity for an experienced Baker who excels at organising, motivating people. Reporting to the Bakery Manager, the Assistant Manager is responsible to ensure all food items are created, packaged, and our shelves are replenished to prescribed standards.

 

The successful candidate will:

 

  • Have attained a Bakery Qualification of Level 3 or higher or extensive experience in a bakery 
  • Have previous management or leadership experience in a bakery or supermarket environment
  • Be physically fit and able to repeatedly lift heavy items (up to 15kg)
  • Be available to work weekends

 

The roster for this position is Wednesday to Sunday, 4am to 1.30pm.

 

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Effectively supervising a diverse team to achieve retail merchandising standards, including overseeing staff training and development
  • Communicating with people across multiple levels of the business to ensure efficient operations and stock movements 
  • Coordinating inwards goods, storeroom, retail filling and fuel site processes
  • Unloading freight and receipting orders into the business
  • Moving stock throughout the business including using forklifts and manual handling work
  • Providing outstanding customer service
  • Complying with and actively promoting food safety and health and safety procedures throughout the supermarket
