Baker - New World Queenstown

 

Become part of our New World Bakery team in beautiful Queenstown. We are in the process of upgrading our retail bakery with all new fittings to the front of our store and are looking for new Bakers to become part of our team as our range is expanding. It’s a fast-paced working environment with a large range of bread and sweet baking opportunities.

New World Queenstown – 1/12 Hawthorne Drive, Remarkables Park

 

We have 6 roles available

 

Minimum 40-45 hours permanent position, set hours and days starting at 3:00am or 4:00am (days and start times vary across the roles but all include weekend work)

 

Pay Rate Ranges: $29.66-$32.00

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of baking experience or a New Zealand Qualified Baker
  • Must have transport ability to get to work for early morning shifts

 

Tasks Include:

  • Checking the cleanliness of equipment and operation of premises before production runs to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations
  • Checking the quality of raw materials and weighing ingredients
  • Kneading, maturing, cutting, molding, mixing and shaping dough and pastry goods
  • Preparing pastry fillings
  • Monitoring oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times
  • Coordinating the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls and pastry products
  • Glazing buns and pastries, and decorating cakes with cream and icing
  • Operating machines which roll and mold dough and cut biscuits
  • Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins and other cooking equipment
  • Prepare and bake buns, cakes, biscuits and pastry goods
