Bakery Assistant or Bakery Apprentice - New World Kaikoura

BAKERY ASSISTANT or BAKERY APPRENTICE - NEW WORLD KAIK?URA

PERMANENT FULL TIME

We currently have a vacancy for a bakery assistant or a baker’s apprentice to join our team on a full-time basis. This position will include early starts and a weekend day. We have an awesome and dedicated bakery team and full training will be given.

Daily Tasks Involved in the role: 

• Producing from scratch a full range of high-quality bakery products
• Ensuring food safety and health & safety standards are met
• Delivering exceptional customer service
• Ensuring all products are merchandised to a high standard
• Working with and ensuring all bakery equipment is operated and maintained correctly
• Maintaining a positive working relationship with the whole bakery team and the wider New World Kaik?ura team

The person/people we are looking for will have the following attributes:

• Ideally have baking experience, however we can offer full training to the right applicant, and even a bakery apprenticeship.
• Be able to work well in a team, but also be able to complete tasks unassisted in the required timeframe
• Must be able to show initiative
• Must be honest and reliable
• Must be physically fit as they will be on their feet all day
• Have a good sense of humour!
• Must have a positive approach to their day and have a ‘can-do’ attitude
• Have a passion for giving excellent customer service and going the extra mile for our customers
• Must enjoy early starts
• Must have great presentation skills and attention to detail
• Please note: Our busiest times are long weekends/public holidays, and summer holidays
