Full-Time Storeperson and Grocery Assistant
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and energetic person to join our inwards goods team here at New World Mosgiel as a full-time Storeperson and Grocery Assistant.
If you are physically fit, hardworking, have excellent attention to detail and can think on your feet then we would like to meet you. We would prefer someone with experience and a forklift licence however we will provide full training for someone who is keen and suitable for this role.
Hours of work:
- Sunday 7:30am – 5:00pm (Storeperson)
- Monday 7:00am – 4:30pm (Storeperson)
- Tuesday 7:00am – 3:30pm (Grocery)
- Wednesday 7:00am – 3:30pm (Grocery)
- Thursday 7:00am – 3:30pm (Grocery)
42 hours total per week
The responsibilities of this role include:
- Unloading and loading of all inwards goods
- To ensure all inwards goods stock is correctly accounted for and handled with care
- To ensure the store area is maintained in an organised state to reduce stock handling damages and time
- To ensure cleanliness of the storeroom is maintained to a high standard
- Providing excellent customer service and assisting with customer enquiries
- Shelf filling
- Date checking and stock rotation
- Assist with all other duties that form part of the Grocery department
- Maintaining Health & Safety and Food Safety standards at all times
You will have the following attributes:
- Exceptional organisational and communication skills
- Forklift licence – not essential but will be an advantage
- Good physical fitness and the physical capability to meet the demands of the position
- A good eye for detail
- Ability to work in a demanding and high-volume environment
- Flexibility to work various days and time to help cover leave or illness in the team

Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not necessary as full training will be given for the right candidate.
