Our Checkout Manager of over 7 years is retiring — are you ready for your next challenge?
We’re looking for a confident and customer-focused Checkout Manager to lead our dynamic checkout team. This is a full-time position with one weekend day required (exact hours to be discussed at the interview).
This is an exciting opportunity to take charge of one of the most important areas of our store. You’ll be joining a friendly, team that’s well-regarded in our community for delivering exceptional customer service with a smile.

- Proven leadership experience and the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team
- Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Honesty and reliability
- Proven ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced supermarket environment
- Adaptability to changing situations and the ability to maintain efficiency during busy periods
- Continual training, developing and coaching of the checkout team
- Strong organisational skills, with experience in managing rosters and ensuring efficient staffing levels
- Ability to manage wage costs effectively while balancing customer service and operational needs
- Confidence in addressing and resolving staffing issues professionally and fairly
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing the checkout team day-to-day
- Ensuring smooth operation of all checkouts
- Providing coaching and support to the checkout team
- Handling and escalating customer issues professionally
- Creating and managing staff rosters
- Ensuring efficient staffing while managing wage costs
- Carrying out general checkout duties when needed — including tills, bag packing, self-service and support at the Customer Service desk
