BAKERY MANAGER

This position is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, self-confident, team player who enjoys the challenges of retailing. 

 

As an integral member of the management team, you will have significant responsibility and will need to possess the appropriate skills to lead the daily operations of this busy and key department of our store. 

 

You will ideally, but not necessarily, have worked within in a supermarket environment and can demonstrate the following attributes:

 

The successful applicant will be able to: 

 

  • plan, organise, and lead the day-to-day operation of the department ensuring company objectives are met
  • Delivery of required processes and stock management
  • ensure the quality, range, freshness, consistency profitability of the Bakery department
  • oversee training and development
  • ensure robust health and safety and food safety programmes are adhered to by all staff members in the bakery department
  • To achieve sales, gross profit, wage and gross profit
  • Ensure delivery of excellent customer service

 

The successful applicant will have:

 

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a management, supervisory role in a supermarket or bakery environment
  • A Bakery Trade Qualification, or industry specific experience
  • NZ Food Hygiene Qualifications (NZQA Unit Standards 167 and 168)
  • Previous purchasing and inventory control experience
  • Solid computer skills
