Operations Manager
About the role:
As our Dunedin Operations Manager, you'll lead the Dunedin Distribution Centre with responsibility for four direct reports and approximately 90 team members across inbound and outbound functions. Reporting to the Head of Operations, you'll have overall accountability for site performance, ensuring the operation delivers consistently across safety, service, productivity and cost measures.
Leading through your team, you'll create an environment where people can perform at their best while building leadership capability, strengthening succession and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Working as part of the wider Supply Chain leadership team, you'll help shape priorities that support both the ongoing success of the site and the evolving needs of our stores and business.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the overall performance of the Dunedin Distribution Centre.
- Deliver strong outcomes across safety, service, productivity and cost measures.
- Build leadership capability and succession depth across the site.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational performance.
- Use operational and financial insights to inform decision making and resource prioritisation.
- Build strong partnerships across Supply Chain and the wider business to support the delivery of business objectives.
About you:
You're an experienced site or operations leader who understands what it takes to lead a complex operation while developing the capability of those around you. You'll combine strong operational discipline with a practical leadership style, using data, insight and sound judgement to drive performance and continuous improvement.
You'll also bring:
- Experience leading large-scale distribution, logistics, manufacturing or operational teams.
- Strong leadership, coaching and succession planning capability.
- Experience driving operational performance and continuous improvement.
- Commercial acumen and sound decision-making skills.
- Ability to use operational and financial insights to inform priorities and decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across all levels of the business.
