The ideal candidate will have the following experience, qualities, and skills:

 

  • Previous management experience in a fast-paced retail, wholesale, restaurant, or supermarket environment
  • Strong numerical and analytical capabilities
  • Highly organised, reliable, and accountable
  • Passionate about food and delivering best quality products at best prices for our customers
  • An outstanding communicator and committed to building strong relationships with team, suppliers, and customers
  • Hold or be capable of obtaining a first aid certificate

 

Your management responsibilities will include:

 

  • Planning, organising, and executing the day-to-day operations and merchandising of the Deli department
  • Effectively leading the Deli team, including overseeing staff rostering, training and task allocation 
  • Stock ordering, inventory control and category management, including receiving deliveries and executing retail standards
  • Achieving sales, wages, and other financial targets 
  • Providing outstanding customer service
  • Actively promoting and maintaining food safety and health and safety initiatives

 

This is a full-time position, ideally working five days and 45 hours per week.  The days and hours of work will be discussed at the interview stage and could be tailored to suit the individual however will require early morning starts and require some weekend work.
