Wholesale Buyer Fresh Produce

About the role:

As a Wholesale Buyer in our Fresh Produce team, you’ll play a key role in getting quality fruit and vegetables from suppliers to our stores. You’ll negotiate pricing, manage supplier relationships, and work across the brands you know – PAK’nSAVE, New World, and Four Square.

You’ll be part of a team of six who are passionate, collaborative, and know when to have a laugh and when to get down to business. The role is 37.5 hours Monday to Friday (6:00 am–2:00 pm), plus 4 hours on a rotating Saturday.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop supplier relationships to maintain service and improve stock management.
• Plan seasonal product launches so customers see fresh produce first.
• Oversee a portfolio of produce, using SAP and Freshbiz to optimise inventory and pricing.
• Collaborate with internal teams on pricing, ordering, and promotional strategies.

About you:

You'll be someone with Fresh Produce expertise and a genuine passion for the industry. You might have experience as a Produce Manager, 2IC, or bring knowledge from a similar role. Ideally, you’ll also bring:

• Strong relationship and communication skills to engage suppliers and internal teams effectively
• Proven negotiation skills with experience in pricing and supplier agreements
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Effective time management and a sharp eye for detail
• A collaborative approach and the ability work as part of a team
