Warehouse Assistant - Wigram


Murdoch Manufacturing is a wholly owned subsidiary of Foodstuffs South Island Ltd; manufacturing and packing a diverse range of food and beverage products for the retail and food service market nationally. Our operations are based across two sites: a Dry Packing and Sauce Plant in Wigram and a Beverage Plant in Hornby – all supported by a team of around 60 people
 

About the role

We are seeking someone who is motivated, reliable, and enthusiastic, to join the warehouse and distribution team at our Wigram site. The position is permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)
 

Your key accountabilities will include:
 

  • Promoting and supporting our strong workplace safety culture with all site staff, contractors, and visitors
  • Forklift loading and unloading of trucks delivering or collecting goods from the site. 
  • Planning and determining location and storage of inventory across the site warehousing areas
  • Movement of goods across the site in line with production requirements.
  • Picking of orders for dispatch to customers or our 3rd party production partners
  • Assisting with inventory control, including physical stocktaking as required   
  • Administration and documentation requirements for site inventory, deliveries, and dispatch of goods.
  • Data entry of goods movements within the central inventory system

The successful applicant will require:

 

  • Previous warehouse and inventory experience, with the ability to work both individually and as part of a team in a busy environment
  • Full Driver’s License and current Counterbalance Forklift Operators Certificate (with F-Endorsement, or able to gain this) 
  • Computer skills, with experience preferably in Microsoft Excel and SAP
  • Ability to think on their feet and meet competing targets during times of pressure
  • Willingness to step up and challenge both themselves and the business to drive continuous improvement.

Hours of work will be discussed at an interview, however they are likely to be Monday to Friday between the hours of 6.30am and 4.30pm, with occasional overtime offered in times of additional demand.
