About the role

As our Transport Manager, you’ll shape the future of transport across our Transport South Island (TSI) division, leading strategic improvements that enhance performance and leadership capability. 

 

You’ll drive efficiency across our trucking and linehaul operations, optimise how we use SAP, and foster collaboration across divisions to embed integrated, sustainable ways of working. 

 

Key accountabilities include: 

  • Leading the optimisation of our transport network to improve efficiency 
  • Embedding best-practice use of SAP to drive performance and visibility 
  • Championing an integrated, cross-divisional approach to transport and logistics 
  • Building and developing a high-performing team through coaching and leadership 
  • Leading contract negotiations and vendor relationships to deliver commercial value 
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across the division 

 

 

About you

You’ll be a transport expert with deep experience in trucking, linehaul, and transport management systems. You’ll know how to lead transformation – not just in systems and processes, but in mindset and culture. You’ll bring commercial focus, curiosity, and a drive to embed smarter, more connected ways of working. Ideally, you’ll also bring: 

 

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and embedding change and delivering commercial results 
  • Deep experience in trucking, linehaul, and/or transport industries 
  • Strong working knowledge of Transport Management Systems (e.g. SAP, Blue Yonder, Manhattan etc.) 
  • Confidence in contract negotiation and vendor management 
  • A coaching leadership style that builds capability and drives performance
