TSI Freight Coordinator
About the role:
As a Freight Coordinator, you’ll play a crucial role in keeping freight flowing smoothly across the South Island. You’ll work closely with internal teams, transport providers and customers to coordinate deliveries, resolve issues and continuously improve freight schedules and service performance. This is a varied, hands – on role where strong organisation, communication and problem-solving skills are key to success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and optimise freight movements across metro and regional areas
- Maintain and action freight systems and manage consignments across all freight types
- Identify and implement improvements to freight schedules and transport experiences
- Support new supplier transactions and ensure operational readiness
- Manage customer service and subcontractor queries, resolving issues promptly
- Monitor, report on and follow up supplier and carrier performance
About you:
You’re organised, proactive and enjoy problem-solving in a logistics or supply chain environment. You’re comfortable working with systems and data and you build strong relationships with ease. Ideally you'll also bring:
- Experience in transport, logistics, supply chain or warehouse operations
- Strong customer service experience with a solution focused mindset
- Proven ability to manage relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and Word)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision - making ability
