New World Durham Street is Christchurch’s next level supermarket experience — proudly locally owned and operated, with a reputation for excellence. Due to an internal promotion, we’re looking for an exceptional Produce Manager to lead our high performing team and continue delivering the city’s best produce offering.
Reporting to the Fresh Foods Manager, you’ll take ownership of a department known for its quality, range, freshness, presentation, and expertise. This is your chance to step into a flagship role and make your mark.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and organising the daily operations of the Produce Department
- Inspiring, coaching, and developing your team
- Maintaining exceptional presentation and merchandising standards
- Delivering outstanding customer service
- Using SAP to drive performance and meet KPIs
- Delegating, training, and providing constructive feedback
- Communicating effectively across the wider store
- Upholding Durham Street’s vision and values
- Ensuring full compliance with food safety and health & safety standards
What You’ll Bring
- Extensive produce experience (preferred)
- Strong leadership capability and resilience
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- A passion for building and motivating a high performing team
- Proven record of achieving results
- Experience with Microsoft Office and SAP (preferred)
- Strong product knowledge and attention to detail
- Reliability, honesty, and commitment to excellence
