Produce Assistant Manager reports to the Produce Manager and assists with the day to day running of the department.
Key responsibilities includes:
- Delivering excellent Customer Service
- Assisting the produce management team with day-to-day operations
- Assisting the produce manager with ordering when required.
- Taking sole charge of the department when required
- Stocking cabinets and unloading deliveries
- Trimming and cutting fruit and vegetables
- Cleaning
- Ensure stock levels, quality, and freshness meet company standards.
- Following the correct Food Safety and Health & Safety policies
- Train and develop team members to maintain high performance.
Personal attributes required are:
- Previous experience in Produce department is essential.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work well with a team
- Physical fitness for lifting heavy crates of up to 20kg on a daily basis
- Ability to multi-task and also complete tasks within the required timeframes
- Motivation to be trained in others aspects of the department
- A positive work ethic and attitude
- Lead by example
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures.
This position is full-time and the days of work are Sunday to Thursday, 40 hours per week. Specific shift times will be discussed during the interview process.
