Platform Delivery Lead
About the role:
As Platform Delivery Lead, you will provide delivery leadership across the Digital Platforms function, ensuring platform initiatives are effectively planned, prioritised, and delivered to achieve both business outcomes and long-term platform sustainability.
You will operate at the intersection of strategy, platform roadmap, and delivery execution, coordinating work across Platform Engineering, Cloud, DevSecOps, and supporting capabilities including networking, automation, and observability.
This role is responsible for managing delivery flow, dependencies, and risks across multiple initiatives, while providing clear delivery assurance to stakeholders. You will play a key role in shaping delivery practices, improving predictability, and enabling the consistent, high-quality delivery of platform capabilities.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the delivery of Digital Platform initiatives, ensuring work is planned, sequenced, and executed to deliver agreed business and platform outcomes.
- Shape delivery plans and priorities in partnership with business, architecture, and technology leaders, balancing demand, capacity, risk, and long‑term sustainability.
- Manage end‑to‑end delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives, maintaining momentum from initiation through deployment and transition to operations.
- Identify and actively manage delivery risks, dependencies, and constraints, resolving issues and removing cross‑team impediments.
- Coordinate delivery across Platform Engineering, Cloud, DevSecOps, and enabling services to ensure cohesive, integrated outcomes.
- Provide clear delivery visibility and assurance through accurate planning, progress reporting, and escalation where required.
- Continuously improve delivery practices, tools, and ways of working to strengthen predictability, transparency, and execution maturity.
About you:
You are a confident delivery leader with experience operating in complex, matrixed environments. You bring structure and accountability to delivery and are comfortable engaging with both senior stakeholders and technical teams to manage risks, dependencies, and outcomes. Ideally, you’ll also bring:
- Demonstrated experience leading the delivery of complex digital or platform initiatives in large or enterprise environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey progress, risks, dependencies, and trade‑offs.
- Experience working across modern digital platform environments, including cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), DevSecOps practices, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, enterprise networking, and platform automation.
- Practical exposure to Platform Engineering concepts and cloud‑based delivery.
- Proven ability to coordinate delivery across multiple teams while managing competing priorities, dependencies, and risks.
- Experience operating within structured planning, governance, or portfolio management processes.
