Platform Delivery Lead

Business Unit:  Foodstuffs South Island Limited
Job Type:  Full time
Job End Date:  14/05/2026

About the role:

As Platform Delivery Lead, you will provide delivery leadership across the Digital Platforms function, ensuring platform initiatives are effectively planned, prioritised, and delivered to achieve both business outcomes and long-term platform sustainability.

You will operate at the intersection of strategy, platform roadmap, and delivery execution, coordinating work across Platform Engineering, Cloud, DevSecOps, and supporting capabilities including networking, automation, and observability.

This role is responsible for managing delivery flow, dependencies, and risks across multiple initiatives, while providing clear delivery assurance to stakeholders. You will play a key role in shaping delivery practices, improving predictability, and enabling the consistent, high-quality delivery of platform capabilities.

Key responsibilities:

Strategic Delivery Leadership

  • Provide delivery leadership to ensure Digital Platform initiatives align with organisational and Member strategies and deliver measurable business outcomes
  • Partner with business, architecture, and technology leaders to shape delivery plans, sequencing, and priorities
  • Align delivery with the Digital Platforms roadmap, ensuring work supports long-term platform evolution
  • Balance demand, capacity, risk, and platform sustainability across competing priorities

Delivery Execution & Assurance

  • Own end-to-end delivery of Digital Platform initiatives, from initiation through to deployment and transition into operational support
  • Establish and manage delivery plans, milestones, and outcomes across multiple concurrent initiatives
  • Proactively manage delivery risks, dependencies, and trade-offs across platform domains
  • Provide clear, consistent reporting and delivery assurance to stakeholders
  • Act as an escalation point for delivery challenges and resolve cross-team blockers
  • Actively remove impediments to ensure delivery momentum and outcomes

Cross-Platform Coordination

  • Coordinate delivery across Platform Engineering, Cloud, DevSecOps, and supporting capabilities
  • Ensure cohesive and integrated delivery across networking, automation, observability, and platform services
  • Enable strong alignment between technical teams and business stakeholders

Planning, Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to enterprise planning processes (e.g. Quarterly Planning), ensuring platform initiatives, dependencies, and capacity are accurately represented
  • Drive continuous improvement in delivery practices, tools, and ways of working
  • Improve delivery predictability, transparency, and overall execution maturity across Digital Platforms

People & Ways of Working

  • Support capability development through coaching, guidance, and clear delivery expectations
  • Foster a collaborative, outcome-focused culture across platform and delivery teams
  • Promote strong engagement between technical teams and stakeholders

About you:

You are a confident and experienced delivery leader, comfortable operating in complex, matrixed environments. You bring structure, clarity, and accountability to delivery, while maintaining strong engagement across both technical teams and senior stakeholders.

You are equally comfortable discussing delivery plans at a senior level as you are engaging with engineers on platform delivery risks and dependencies.

You will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience leading delivery of complex digital or platform initiatives in large or enterprise environments
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate progress, risks, dependencies, and trade-offs
  • Experience working across modern Digital Platform environments, including:
    • Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
    • DevSecOps practices
    • Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines
    • Enterprise networking and platform automation
  • Practical experience with Platform Engineering concepts and cloud-based delivery
  • Proven ability to coordinate delivery across multiple teams and manage dependencies, risks, and competing priorities
  • Experience working within structured planning and governance processes
