About us:

Murdoch Food & Beverage is a wholly owned subsidiary of Foodstuffs South Island Ltd; manufacturing and packing a diverse range of food and beverage products for the retail and food service market nationally. Our operations are based across two Christchurch sites: a Dry Packing and Sauce Plants in Wigram and a Beverage Plant in Hornby – all supported by a team of around 50 people.

About the role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Planning Coordinator to support effective production scheduling, reporting, goods movements, and procurement administration processes across our Wigram site. This role is key to supporting our Supply, Production and Logistics functions.

Hours of work can be discussed in an interview, but this is a full-time day-shift role of 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the preparation, coordination and ongoing maintenance of production scheduling processes.
  • Maintaining and improving scheduling documents and planning tools.
  • Using key systems including SAP and Microsoft Excel to support accurate planning and integrity.
  • Working closely with Warehouse, Inventory and Production teams to coordinate material movements and ensure operational requirements are met.
  • Supporting inventory management processes, including releasing count documentation and reconciling returned accounts.

About you:

You’re highly organised, detail-focused and enjoy working in a fast-paced operational environment. You’re comfortable working with systems and data and you communicate well with a wide range of teams. Ideally you’ll also have:

 

  • Previous experience in production scheduling, ideally within a fast-moving consumer goods environment.
  • Strong computer proficiency, especially MS Office.
  • Sound decision-making capability.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/WMS systems (desired).
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to work effectively with all people across the business.
  • Willingness to step up and challenge both themselves and the business to drive continuous improvement.
