About the role:
As a Payroll Specialist you’ll play a vital part of the Foodstuffs South Island Shared Services Payroll team. This is a fast - paced environment where accuracy, teamwork, collaboration and clear communication are the key to success.
The Payroll team supports our member stores, Distribution Centres and Head Office to ensure weekly, fortnightly and monthly pays are processed correctly and on time. You’ll further support our people and member stores with payroll queries and system support ensuring our Payroll operation operates smoothly and collaboratively.
This is a 12 month fixed – term role covering parental leave.
Key responsibilities include:
- Process end to end weekly, fortnightly and monthly pays.
- Maintaining employee records including new starters, leavers and changes with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Respond to Payroll queries promptly, providing clear and professional communication by phone, email and in person.
- Working closely with the Payroll Manager to carry out ad hoc tasks and support the team with any projects, processes improvements or overflow in workload.
About you:
You’ll be a Payroll Specialist or Payroll Officer with experience working for a medium to large organisation within New Zealand. You’ll have a thorough understanding of NZ payroll legislation and compliance requirements. Ideally you’ll also have:
- Ability to adapt, prioritise and remain clam under pressure in a busy payroll environment.
- Confident skills in Excel, with the ability to manage spreadsheets and reconcile data – experience with systems such as TimeTarget & SAP SuccessFactors would be a bonus.
- Clear and professional communication skills via both written (emails) and verbal (face to face and over the phone.)
- A team focused attitude taking enjoyment from supporting others and being part of a collaborative environment.
