About the role:

As a Payroll Administrator within our Accountancy Services team, you'll ensure our Four Square team members across the South Island are paid accurately and on time.

 

Working primarily within the PayHero platform, you'll support the end-to-end payroll process for our Four Square stores, processing payroll transactions, maintaining employee records, and responding to payroll enquiries. You'll be the key point of contact for payroll-related questions, working closely with store teams to provide practical support and guidance.

 

This is a highly administrative role with a strong payroll focus. Your day-to-day work will involve processing payroll data, managing employee changes, maintaining documentation, and ensuring payroll records remain accurate and up to date. The work is structured and process-driven, requiring someone who enjoys routine, takes pride in accuracy, and can consistently meet weekly payroll deadlines.

About you:

You’ll be an experienced payroll administrator who is comfortable working within defined processes and consistently deliver accurate, high-quality work. Dependable and detail-conscious, you’ll take ownership of your responsibilities and enjoy supporting a team committed to excellence. Ideally, you’ll also bring:

 

  • Minimum two years' payroll administration experience, ideally within a medium-sized organisation
  • Understanding of New Zealand payroll legislation and compliance requirements
  • Experience identifying and resolving payroll compliance issues, including liaising with Inland Revenue
  • Experience working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Confidence responding to payroll queries and providing practical support to customers and stakeholders
  • Experience contributing to process improvements and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency
  • Working knowledge of payroll systems is essential, with experience using PayHero being advantageous
