Observability Specialist
About the role:
As an Observability Specialist, you’ll support the delivery and day-to-day operation of our enterprise observability platform. This will help ensure consistent visibility across a diverse hybrid technology environment.
Working closely with the Senior Observability Engineer, you’ll contribute to the rollout of platform capabilities, onboard new systems, and help maintain the overall health and effectiveness of monitoring across the business. You’ll work directly with modern observability tools, gaining valuable experience while supporting a critical enterprise capability.
This is a 12-month fixed-term position, with a focus on delivering critical observability uplift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and enhancement of observability platform capabilities
- Deploy and manage monitoring agents across infrastructure and platform environments
- Build and maintain dashboards that provide clear operational visibility
- Configure and refine alerting to improve signal quality and reduce noise
- Monitor platform health, investigating and resolving data or connectivity issues
- Onboard new systems and services following established processes and standards
About You:
You’ll be a technically capable engineer eager to grow your experience across observability, monitoring, platform operations and automation. Ideally, you’ll also bring:
- Hands-on experience with observability or monitoring tools (e.g. Grafana, Prometheus).
- Experience deploying or supporting agents across Linux, Windows, or cloud environments.
- Familiarity with automation or deployment tools (e.g. Ansible, Helm, SCCM or similar).
- Understanding of cloud or hybrid infrastructure environments.
- Exposure to version-controlled configuration or code-based deployment practices.
- Ability to follow processes, contribute to documentation, and support continuous improvement.
