About the role:

As our Maintenance Supervisor, you'll oversee and direct a team of maintenance staff and contractors. You'll assign the team tasks, set priorities, and provide guidance and support as needed.

 

Your role will also include: 

 

  • Collaborating with external contractors and vendors to ensure timely completion and cost-effectiveness of maintenance projects.
  • Ensuring efficient utilisation of resources to meet maintenance goals and objectives.
  • Working with the Maintenance Engineer to evaluate contractor performance, review deliverables and promptly address any issues or concerns.
  • Overseeing and coordinating the execution of routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
  • Performing other general maintenance duties as required. 

 

This role reports to the DC Maintenance Engineer and is based at our Hornby Distribution Centre in Christchurch. This position is a Monday to Friday permanent full-time position, 40 hours per week. 

About you:

You'll be an experienced supervisor or leader who knows how to lead a team; celebrating wins and delivering constructive feedback as necessary. Additional technical certifications or relevant trade qualifications are desired but not essential! Ideally you will also:

 

  • Have experience in maintenance operations (ideally in a warehousing setting)
  • Be able to motivate and develop a diverse workforce, including contractors
  • Have strong attention to detail - you'll be one who likes to get things right the first time 
  • Be somewhat tech savvy and keen to learn - you'll pick up new systems quickly 
  • Have a strong knowledge of maintenance principles, procedures, and best practice
