Machine Operator
About the role:
- Operate, monitor and optimise production machinery optimising efficiency
- Train and support other operators in key aspects of VFFS machine operation

As a Packing Machine Operator, you’ll work across the dry packing operations based at our Wigram production plant. These include Vertical Form, Fill and Seal (VFFS) machinery, along with pre-made pouch/bag packing equipment, supported by data weigh and auger feeding systems.
You’ll primarily operate VFFS production lines, while also supporting other operational activities across the site as required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, monitor and optimise production machinery to maximise output and efficiency
- Maintain a consistent commitment to quality, ensuring finished products meet required standards
- Train and support other operators in key aspects of VFFS machine operation
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and assist the engineering team as required to ensure reliable plant performance.
- Work collaboratively with the production team and leadership to support continuous improvement initiatives
About you:
You’re reliable, hands-on and take pride in producing quality work. You’re comfortable operating machinery in a fast-paced environment and understand the importance of safety, accuracy and teamwork. Ideally, you will also bring:
- Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or distribution environment
- A strong focus on health and safety and following standard operating procedures
- Good attention to detail with the ability to spot issues early
- A positive, can-do attitude and the flexibility to work to production deadlines
- Basic mechanical aptitude or the ability to troubleshoot minor faults
