About the role:

  • Operate, monitor and optimise production machinery optimising efficiency
  • Train and support other operators in key aspects of VFFS machine operation

As a Packing Machine Operator, you’ll work across the dry packing operations based at our Wigram production plant. These include Vertical Form, Fill and Seal (VFFS) machinery, along with pre-made pouch/bag packing equipment, supported by data weigh and auger feeding systems.

You’ll primarily operate VFFS production lines, while also supporting other operational activities across the site as required.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, monitor and optimise production machinery to maximise output and efficiency
  • Maintain a consistent commitment to quality, ensuring finished products meet required standards
  • Train and support other operators in key aspects of VFFS machine operation
  • Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and assist the engineering team as required to ensure reliable plant performance.
  • Work collaboratively with the production team and leadership to support continuous improvement initiatives

About you:

You’re reliable, hands-on and take pride in producing quality work. You’re comfortable operating machinery in a fast-paced environment and understand the importance of safety, accuracy and teamwork. Ideally, you will also bring:

 

  • Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing or distribution environment
  • A strong focus on health and safety and following standard operating procedures
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to spot issues early
  • A positive, can-do attitude and the flexibility to work to production deadlines
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or the ability to troubleshoot minor faults
