About the role


The successful applicant will join a small team of engineers based in our Christchurch office maintaining Linux and Unix systems which provide infrastructure services critical to Foodstuffs South Island.  The systems are predominately running on virtualized IBM Power hardware with a mix of IBM and Pure Storage to support SAP HANA and DB2 databases along with their associated application servers.  This is a fixed term role for 18 months with the goal of maintaining up to date patch and version levels.

What we are looking for


Commercial experience maintaining Linux or Unix servers is a key requirement for this role.  Experience with the following would be desirable:


  • SUSE Enterprise Linux
  • SUSE Manager patch deployment
  • AIX patching and upgrades
  • Storage / SAN experience
  • Cloud environments such as GCP
