Health & Safety Manager - Supply Chain

Business Unit:  Foodstuffs South Island Limited
Job Type:  Full time
Job End Date:

About the role:

As our Health & Safety Manager, you’ll partner with Supply Chain teams to lead health and safety transformation and embed a strong safety culture across the division. Sitting at the Supply Chain Leadership table, you’ll influence decisions and shape the next chapter of our safety strategy. You’ll build on strong foundations by advancing programmes that engage our people, strengthen leadership capability, and embed proactive risk management - creating an environment where everyone can thrive.

This is a high-impact role in a fast-paced environment. Our supply chain operates 24/7 and includes over 1,000 team members across Transport, Inventory, and support teams, as well as our Dry Goods and Temperature-Controlled Distribution Centres. You’ll report to the Head of Health & Safety and lead a passionate team of five (3 advisors, a coordinator, and an administrator) who share your commitment to keeping our people safe at work.

About you:

You’ll be an experienced Health & Safety leader who thrives on coaching, influencing, and engaging stakeholders at all levels. While experience in an operational or logistics environment is an advantage, it’s not essential. Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Strong health and safety experience within a large organisation
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team
  • Experience creating a culture of accountability and empowerment, where team members thrive and grow
  • Ability to lead confidently through change, providing clear direction and helping teams to stay aligned and focused.
  • Experience embedding best practice and continuous improvement through data-driven insights and collaboration
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with the ability to inspire, influence, and engage stakeholders at all levels
