GROCERY MANAGER/ WEEKEND STORE MANAGER - New World St Martins
An exciting opportunity has opened up in our Grocery Department, and we are looking for someone to join our leadership team as a Grocery Manager.
Are you an existing Grocery Manager, a supermarket department manager or a career driven experienced leader seeking a change or a fresh new challenge?
Part of our focus is on providing a wide range of quality products, service and presentation, we require the above person to manage our Grocery Department.
This is a permanent Full-Time position which includes a weekend shift. Early starts and flexible finishes will be required. Current Industry and SAP experience will be essential.
This position is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated, self-confident, team player who enjoys the challenges of Grocery Retailing. As an integral member of the management team you will have significant responsibility and will need to possess the appropriate skills to lead the daily operations of this busy department in our store. You will oversee the Online department, store room operations and work closely with the night fill team.
You will ideally, but not necessarily, have worked within in a supermarket environment and can demonstrate the following attributes:

- Ability to effectively communicate at all levels
- Attention to detail
- Ability to analyse data from our SAP Business system.
- Expected to undertake Duty manager’s role overseeing the entire supermarket one day each weekend.
- Liquor Managers Certificate essential and Forklift F endorsement preferable.
The key responsibilities of the successful applicant include:
- Inventory management alongside our grocery buyer.
- The achievement of sales, gross profit and wage budgets, and other key KPI’s
- Organizing, leading and coaching of staff
- Maintaining our Health & Safety, and Food Safety standards within your department
- Ensure the Grocery Department is presented to a very high standard at all times.
- Buying as required.
- Display planning.
- Provide engaging leadership for all members of your team.
- Build positive relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Ensuring the grocery team members are providing excellent customer service.
- Look for food trends and other ways to provide unique offerings to our customers.
