About the role:
We are recruiting a Financial Accountant to join our Financial Accounting team. The Accountant is an integral part of the Financial Accounting team supporting the Group Financial Controller to ensure the integrity of financial information and reporting for the Foodstuffs South Island (FSSI) cooperative.
This role will give you the opportunity to:
· Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting within reporting deadlines for both the FSSI consolidated group and subsidiaries.
· Preparation of general ledger account reconciliations and timely resolution of reconciling items.
· Preparing and posting journals, including intercompany interest, internal charges and prepayments.
· Ensure the integrity of the FSSI Group Fixed Asset Register. Including acquisitions and disposals, tax information, depreciation and amortisation, and capitalised interest.
· Responsible for the FSSI Group fixed asset and capital expenditure reporting.
· Assist with the preparation of FSSI indirect taxes, GST, FBT and RWT.
What we are looking for:
We are looking for an experienced, task driven, financial professional who wishes to apply their skills and experience to enhance the financial performance of Foodstuffs South Island.
Successful candidates will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
· Previous experience in accounting.
· Good attention to detail.
· Proactive approach to improvement opportunities.
· Computer literacy, particularly within the Microsoft Suite of products (Excel / Word).
· Excellent analytical skills with the ability to understand the problem.
· Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
· Personable with excellent relationship skills.
Desirable, but not essential:
· Professional accountancy qualification.
· University qualification in accounting, or equivalent type qualification.
· Knowledge of SAP.
· Previous experience in a FMCG businesses.
