Evening Duty Manager - New World Durham
Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking an Evening Duty Manger

This is a key position as one of the leaders in the Dry Goods department, you will help shape the day-to-day operations and lead our team through effective training and timely feedback. This role offers a great store culture and full training from the Department Manager. A strong commitment to ongoing training and learning, creating a fantastic pathway to leadership development.
Your day to day:
- Working alongside the Dry Goods leadership team to ensure daily and evening tasks run smoothly
- Report to the Dry Goods leadership team to execute the daily tasks
- Organising and delegating tasks for our team of retail assistants.
- Helping and assisting customers on the shop floor – making sure they have an amazing shopping experience with us!
- Presenting stock so it is accessible and looks great
- Adhering to all health and safety standards
- Ensuring great presentation of our fresh food courtyard throughout the night.
- Working with our Checkout leadership team to help resolve any customer issues.
- Assisting with loss prevention.
What we need from you:
- Relevant experience in a retail environment or similar leadership experience.
- Outstanding people skills - you will spend a lot of your time interacting with your team and customers.
- A great work ethic and hardworking nature
- A willingness and openness to learn new skills and processes
- The ability to work independently and self-manage
- The ability to work quickly and efficiently while managing your own workload – organisation and prioritisation skills are important here!
- Excellent customer service skills
- ·Flexibility to help from time to time with extra hours/shifts
- Good physical fitness for lifting and moving stock around
- Great presentation skills and attention to detail
- Current Forklift License
Wednesday to Saturday: 1.30pm to 10pm (32 hours)
There is flexibility with hours for the right candidate but a 10pm finish is required.
