This position requires a high level of initiative and attention to detail, management and communication skills and has the potential to pave the way to a successful career in Supermarket Management.

 

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Duty Manager who is committed to leading all aspects of the Supermarket in a timely and professional manner. This person will need to ensure the efficient and safe running of the entire Supermarket, with emphasis on maintaining high standards throughout the store and to represent the Supermarket and Department Managers outside of traditional business hours.

The key responsibilities are:

 

  • Managing staff
  • Ensuring all standards are upheld around the entire store
  • Ensuring customer complaints and queries are dealt with according to policies
  • Ensuring all aspects of Tobacco, Lotto and Liquor laws are upheld.
  • Ensuring Health & Safety and Food Safety policies are adhered to.
  • Ensuring all shelves are kept full and faced.

 

Preferred attributes are:

 

  • A minimum of 2 years Supermarket experience, preferably with some experience of managing/supervising staff.
  • A General Managers Liquor Licence
  • A current First Aid Certificate
  • A current Forklift/Reachtruck Licence
  • A switched on-can do attitude
  • Great communication skills
  • Reliable and trustworthy with a great work ethic
  • To be physically fit, well organised and motivated

 

This is a full time position working 42.50 hours per week. Hours will be discussed at interview and will include a combination of day and evening shifts and a weekend shift.  The pay rate will reflect the skills and abilities of the successful applicant.
