At Bishopdale New World—aka The Bish—we’re on the lookout for a Compliance Manager who’s ready to roll up their sleeves and make sure our store is safe, sound, and squeaky clean!

This isn’t just about ticking boxes—it’s about leading with integrity, creating a culture of care, and making sure our customers and team are protected every step of the way.

As well as leading our compliance, the role also encompasses leading our small Online Shopping team, helping to prepare gift hampers, managing our instore security program, aiding in recruitment and even jumping on the checkout till from time to time!

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Safety Superhero: You’ll be the go-to for all things Food Safety and Health & Safety, ensuring our store meets (and beats!) all compliance standards.
• Policy Pro: Develop, implement, and maintain systems that keep us ahead of the game—whether it’s audits, risk assessments, or incident investigations.
• Team Trainer: Empower our crew with the knowledge and tools they need to stay safe and compliant. You’ll lead training sessions and keep everyone in the loop.
• Problem Solver: Spot issues before they arise, and tackle challenges with a calm, practical approach. You’ll be the person we trust to keep things on track.
• Regulation Radar: Stay up to date with NZ legislation and industry best practices, making sure we’re always one step ahead.

About You:

• You’ve got experience in compliance, food safety, or health & safety—bonus points if it’s in retail or food!
• You’re a confident communicator who can lead, train, and inspire.
• You’re organised, detail-focused, and love a good checklist.
• You’re proactive, positive, and ready to make a real impact.
• You care about people and want to create a safe, supportive environment.
