Communications Partner

Business Unit:  Foodstuffs South Island Limited
Job Type:  Fixed Term/Project
Job End Date:

About the role:

As a Communications Partner, you’ll plan and deliver clear, engaging communications that keep people informed, connected, and clear on what matters most. From writing updates and creating visual content, to supporting campaigns and events, you’ll play a hands‑on role in helping to shape how we communicate across the cooperative. You’ll work closely with leaders and teams, building strong relationships and ensuring our messages are relevant, timely, and easy to understand.

You’ll be joining a collaborative, supportive team that values creativity, continuous improvement, and helping our people do their best work.

We’re ideally looking for someone full‑time (37.5 hours per week), but we’re open to exploring what “full‑time” could look like for you.

About you:

Whether you’re looking for a new challenge or the next step in your communications career, what matters most is your ability to build trust, translate information into clear messages, and help people feel connected to what’s happening across the co‑operative.

You’ll enjoy working with different teams, asking good questions, and shaping content that feels meaningful and accessible. Ideally, you’ll also bring:

  • Experience in internal or external communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
  • Hands‑on experience creating and delivering internal communication activities or campaigns.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills across different formats - from business updates to visual content and events.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and work across multiple channels.
  • A collaborative, approachable style and the confidence to build strong relationships at all levels.
