Checkout Supervisor

New World Wigram is looking for a friendly, passionate and motivated person to join our checkout team.

The Checkout Supervisor role is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day checkout operations, resolving customer queries at the checkout, assisting with Checkout Manager tasks where required, and facilitating the sale of restricted items.

We have one permanent role, which can be filled as either one full-time position or two part-time positions, details below.

Option1: Part-time roles

Shift 1: 11.5 hours

• Sunday: 3:30pm – 10pm
• Monday: 3:30pm – 9.30pm

Shift 2:18 hours

• Thursday: 3:30pm – 10pm
• Friday: 3:30pm – 10pm
• Saturday: 3:30pm – 10pm 

Option 2: Full-time role: 29 hours 

• Monday: 3:30pm – 9.30pm
• Thursday: 3:30pm – 10pm
• Friday: 3:30pm – 10pm
• Saturday: 3:30pm – 10pm 
• Sunday: 3:30pm – 10pm

Permanent role with the opportunity to pick up more shifts when available. 
Additional hours will be required from time to time to cover sickness or leave for other Supervisors.

The successful applicant will demonstrate the following key abilities:

• Previous experience in retail or supermarkets is an advantage, but not essential.
• Commitment to high standards of customer service
• Attention to detail 
• A positive, can-do attitude
• Physically fit and comfortable working on your feet in a fast-paced environment 
• Communication and time management skills
• Team player
• Adhere to food safety and H&S policies 

A current Duty Manager’s Certificate would be beneficial, but training will be provided for the successful applicant to apply for one. You must be at least 20 years old to obtain a Duty Managers Certificate.
