Butchery Assistant Manager – New World Wigram

We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic person to join our Butchery team. 

 

This is an excellent opportunity to join a very successful team of Butchers who produce a wide range of products each day for our loyal and supportive customers. 

 

This is an opportunity for a person who is already confident in their abilities and has team supervising/management experience.

 

The Butchery Assistant Manager reports to the Butchery Manager and assists with the day to day running of the department. 

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • ensuring our customers are our number one priority
  • slicing, cutting and preparing meats for display
  • ensuring our high, quality standards are maintained
  • being able to assist customers with their selection and make recommendations 
  • ensuring compliance with all health & safety and food safety procedures 
  • Ordering stock and liaising with suppliers
  • Achieving and improving on set targets 
  • Covering the Manager while they are away on leave

 

The successful candidate will: 

 

  • Have proven experience with supervising and managing a team
  • Have the relevant qualifications and retail experience
  • Effectively communicate with a diverse range of people
  • Be competent using computer programs – SAP experience will be ideal
  • Experience in the management of food safety and health and safety

 

This is a full-time position of Sunday to Thursday, 40 hours per week. Specific shift times will be discussed during the interview process.
