About the role


We currently have an exciting opportunity for an SAP BI Consultant, to be based at our head office in Christchurch, to provide BI technical support and expertise to our business. This is an ideal role for a technical expert to further develop their skills in our fast-paced BI team of highly skilled professionals. 

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop new data models and enhance existing data structures within both SAP and non-SAP data warehouses.
  • Design, code, test, and maintain business intelligence solutions.
  • Create visual and easy to use end-user reports in SAP and non-SAP front end tools.
  • Monitor data accuracy and quality, and to take necessary steps to ensure data is consistently reliable.
  • Ensure rapid support for data queries and resolution of any issues.
  • Identify, mitigate and prevent risks of BI solutions failure and to assist with problem analysis and fault resolution.
  • Ensure data, processes and systems are accurately documented in a manner appropriate for both technical and business users.
  • Provide training to users and support staff.

What we are looking for


  • Minimum 5 years’ diverse experience in SAP BW, SAP HANA, and ABAP for BW (including ETL routines, BEx customer exits, and extractor enhancements)
  • Deep expertise in any BI reporting tool, such as BEx Query Designer, Business Objects, SAP Analytics Cloud etc.
  • Developed skills and knowledge of SQL
  • Experience with planning solutions would be advantageous
  • Strong analytical capabilities and an inquisitive approach to problem solving
  • Customer facing experience such as requirements gathering, presenting solutions, training etc.  This role will include a high level of interaction with non-technical team members, so excellent communication abilities are essential
  • A proactive approach and a proven experience in risk identification
  • Highly motivated and an excellent approach to teamwork.


This role is based in Christchurch, so only candidates who are based here or are ready to relocate to Christchurch will be considered.
