Baker - New World Stanmore (Fixed Term or Casual, immediate start)

New World Stanmore is a great community supermarket in the heart of Christchurch. We are looking for a Baker to join our Bakery team on a fixed term or casual basis immediately due to an injury in the team. This is a full-time role (40-50 hours per week). Hours and days will be discussed at the interview stage.

Daily Tasks Involved in the role: 

• Producing from scratch a full range of high-quality bakery products
• Ensuring food safety and health & safety standards are met
• Ensuring all products are merchandised to a high standard
• Working with and ensuring all bakery equipment is operated and maintained correctly
• Maintaining a positive working relationship with the whole bakery team and the wider New World Stanmore team

The person we are looking for will have the following attributes:

• Good baking experience ideally with exposure to both doughs and cakes, however dough knowledge would be preferred
• Be able to work well in a team, but also be able to complete tasks unassisted in the required timeframe
• Must be able to show initiative
• Must be honest and reliable
• Must be physically fit as they will be on their feet all day
• Must have a positive approach to their day and have a ‘can-do’ attitude
• Have a passion for giving excellent customer service and going the extra mile for our customers
• Must enjoy early starts
• Must have great presentation skills and attention to detail
