Butcher

Alexandra New World is a proudly family-owned supermarket serving the Central Otago community.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Butcher to join our dynamic Butchery Team. Formal qualifications are not required, but solid hands-on experience in a butchery environment is essential.

You'll be joining a close-knit Butchery team of 10, made up of four qualified butchers alongside apprentices, knife hands, packers and students. It's a supportive environment where everyone pitches in, works closely together and takes pride in what they do.

We're happy to discuss hours to make the role work for the right candidate, but days will be Tuesday-Saturday. Shifts start at 5.00am, with full-time hours being 40 per week.

Key Tasks:

• Prepare cuts to retail specifications
• Ensure accurate presentation and labelling
• Monitor stock and assist with ordering
• Provide friendly, professional customer service
• Follow all Food Safety and Health & Safety standards
• Support packers and retail staff as needed
• Bring fresh ideas and innovation to the department
